A MOTORIST caught speeding at just over the limit through a Powys village has learnt a quick lesson not to do so again after she was fined nearly £600.
Amanda Jayne Richards was recorded driving at 41 miles per hour through Llyswen days before Christmas last year – she was driving through a 30mph zone.
She was convicted of speeding at Llanelli Magistrates' Court this week and ordered to pay a total financial penalty of £574.
Richards, 46, was driving a Peugeot 208 on the A470 through Llyswen, between Builth Wells and Brecon, on the day, with the offence occurring at 3.03pm.
Richards, of Mount Pleasant, Abercarn, was not present in court on Wednesday, June 15, to hear that she had received a £440 fine from the bench.
She was also ordered to pay £90 costs and a £44 surcharge. She also had 4 points placed on her driving licence.
