Following weeks of planning and fundraising, a Llanfyllin resident carried out his sponsored head shave for a cancer charity.
Ieuan Lewis had his head shaved on May 22 to raise money for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, receiving close to £1000 in sponsors.
The fundraiser took place at Llanwddyn Community Centre at 11am and also featured a charity auction as well as smaller fundraising activities and competitions.
Regarding the event, Mr Lewis said: “It was a wonderful day, and so great to see so many people turn out to the event, and that everyone threw themselves into making it a real day of fundraising.
Ieuan Davies prepares to have his head shaved for charity.
“I’m very happy with the amount we’ve raised but would like to stress that there’s still time for more if anyone would be willing to give that little bit extra.”
“The work Lingen Davies does and the support it provides is so important and I’m so grateful people rallied around a chance to contribute, in whatever way, to their work.”
Mr Lewis’ appeal ends on May 31 and will still be taking donations and sponsorships until the closing date.
