The last remaining Covid rules look set to be lifted tomorrow when the First Minister makes his latest three-weekly coronavirus announcement.
Mark Drakeford is expected to confirm on Friday (May 27) that the last remaining coronavirus regulations will be removed from this coming Monday, May 30.
He will announce the outcome of the latest three-weekly review of regulations in a press conference at midday tomorrow.
The Welsh Government will continue to recommend people take simple steps to protect their health – including staying up to date with Covid vaccinations and self-isolating if they have Covid-19 symptoms.
But over the last three weeks the public health situation has continued to improve and the number of Covid-19-related patients in hospital is gradually falling, although the NHS continues to experience emergency and pandemic pressures.
At present, masks are still required in hospitals and healthcare settings, and it is advised that they are worn on public transport.
Businesses are also currently required to carry out risk assessments to prepare for Covid.
Laws on self-isolation have already ended, although it is still recommended that people with Covid isolate and this recommendation will remain in place.
