POLICE are investigating a series of thefts of manhole covers and other roadside equipment thought to amount to £20,000 over the Easter weekend.
The incidents happened across Radnorshire between Friday, April 15, and Monday, April 18, Dyfed Powys Police said.
The thefts occurred in rural areas in the Knighton, Presteigne and New Radnor areas.
“Dyfed Powys Police is investigating several thefts that occurred between Friday, April 15, and Monday, April 18, at various locations on the highways in Powys,” said a police spokesperson.
“Thirty seven gullies and six manhole covers were stolen from the A488 near Monaughty, the B4356, the B4357 near Maes-Treylow (between Whitton and Evenjobb) and the A44 near New Radnor. The combined value of the property stolen is believed to be approximately £20,000.
