VANDALISM to one of Newtown's oldest landmarks has led to one of its youngest residents speaking out.
Three-year-old Ellie Swanson of Newtown was among those upset to discover many of the windows of St David's Church on New Road being smashed over the weekend.
St David’s Church was built by Thomas Penson in the 1840s and renovated in the 1870s.
It closed in 2006 due to maintenance costs and has since remained shut while retaining its commanding presence on the Newtown skyline.
Since its churchyard, the final resting place of many of Newtown's prominent men and women of their age and seven war graves, is all that is left to remind visitors of the site's once great standing.
However St David's Church remains beloved by many - including little Ellie Swanson.
Grandmother Tina Lovatt shared a video of Ellie calling on people to not vandalise the church.
