A man has admitted causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to a Newtown town centre shop.
Androl Dean Junior admitted that he destroyed the windows and display stands at Specsavers in Broad Street on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
The court heard that the incident cost the opticians retail chain £5,669.68 to replace.
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to criminal damage when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 26.
The shop, which is just yards from Dyfed-Powys Police CCTV outside HSBC bank, had its frontage boarded up following the incident last summer after its front windows were smashed.
Dean Jnr, from the Abermule area, admitted the offence and is expected to next appear at Wrexham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 3. The magistrates granted that he remain on unconditional bail.
