MARC Griffiths will bring the curtain down on nine years at Llanrhaeadr Football Club on Saturday.
Player-manager Griffiths will step down after the villagers play their final JD Cymru North fixture of the season when Buckley Town visit Tanllan.
With the club relegated to the third tier following a miserable campaign, Griffiths insisted the time was right for a change.
He said: "It's been a fantastic nine years but I feel now is the right time for myself and the club.
"I have been fortunate to work with such a hard working committee and I'd like to thank them for the opportunity they have given me."
Despite the lows of this season the club has enjoyed a stellar few years under Griffiths' tenure.
He said: "As a club we have achieved some massive highs, punching above our weight on the league front while causing a good few upsets in the Welsh Cup, times that will live long in the memory for all associated with Llanrhaeadr Football Club."
While Griffiths' tenure is coming to an end he insisted he would always be a Llan fan.
He said: "Tomorrow is going to be an emotional day for me. Llanrhaeadr Football Club has been a massive part of my and my family's life.
"I have made some friends for life over the last nine years and that's an example of how powerful football and sport can be."
