A NEWLY formed community group in Powys have raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
The Happy Valley Club handed over a cheque for £580 to Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the largest charities in Britain to offer specialist care and support for people living with cancer.
Macmillan was this year’s chosen charity for the newly formed Happy Valley Club, based in Bwlch-y-Cibau, between Welshpool and Llanfyllin.
The group hosted a coffee morning and garage sale to raise the funds.
For the upcoming year, Happy Valley Club have selected Blood Bikes Wales as their charity of choice for upcoming fundraisers.
They are hosting a quiz and curry night, as well as bingo and a concert with Penybontfawr Male Voice choir in October.
The group meet on the first Tuesday of every month in the Old School in Bwlch-y-Cibau.
