A COVID-19 outbreak at a Builth Wells business has seen it shut down for a number of days.
Hay And Brecon Farmers Ltd – a farmers co-operative specialising in animal feed and agricultural supplies – announced the move over the weekend, confirming that it’s Garth Road branch in Builth will reopen tomorrow (Tuesday) after being shut for two days due to the outbreak.
The firm made the announcement on Friday (March 25), informing customers they’d be closed on Saturday and today.
In a post on its Facebook page, Hay And Brecon Farmers Ltd said: “Covid Quarantine – Builth Wells depot.
“Builth Wells depot will be closed completely tomorrow Saturday 26th and Monday 28th March 2022. It will reopen Tuesday 29th March.
“Our Llandrindod depot, opposite Aldi, is open as normal – as are all other sites. We are sorry for this inconvenience.”
As coronavirus restrictions have eased in recent months, there has been a rise in cases across Wales – including Powys.
Infection rates in every area of Wales rose in March, with Cardiff having recorded the most positive cases over the latest 24-hour period with 307 followed by Rhondda Cynon Taf (196), Swansea (137), Vale of Glamorgan (120), Caerphilly (116) and Carmarthenshire (111).
And even though Powys is in the lower middle of the pack with 88, it is still well below the likes of Gwynedd (46), Ceredigion (35) and Anglesey (28).
With that in mind perhaps, the term 'Powys Health Board Covid booster' has seen a spike in internet searches.
Hay And Brecon Farmers has another Powys branch, in Brecon, as well as one in Hereford.
