A street at a new housing development in Newtown is to be renamed after concerns were raised by local residents that it was similar to a nearby street name.
Two names have been put forward to replace "Swift Court", or "Cwrt y Wennol" in Welsh, where the former Red Dragon pub once stood in Maesyrhandir.
The options are Kingfisher Court, which is Cwrt Glas y Dorlan in Welsh, and Wren Court, which is translated to Cwrt y Dryw.
Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn councillors will discuss the names at their next full council meeting which will be on Monday, March 28.
Powys County Council said 'Red Dragon Close' will be unaffected and officially named in due course.
Eleven two-bed houses, three three-bed houses, two four-bed houses, one five-bed house and a three-bed bungalow are expected to be completed by May this year.
The development will be split into two where Red Dragon Close will be accessed off Plantation Lane and the second street will be accessed off Swallow Drive.
Swallow Drive's Welsh translation is Lon y Wennol.
