A transport company in Wales is transporting essential goods to Ukrainians impacted by the ongoing Russian invasion.
Staff within Speed Welshpool’s haulage division are coordinating a collection of charitable aid at its Buttington Quarry depot.
The company offered to collect and transport the donations to Ukraine free of charge.
Within a few days of Speed Welshpool’s appeal, they had received enough essential items to fill an articulated lorry.
George Edwards, managing director at Speed Welshpool, said: “We quickly realised how important it was to provide free logistical support.
"The support from local people and businesses has been fantastic, in all the years I’ve been here, nothing has moved the community quite as much as this has.
“We’ll continue with our appeal for as long as it’s needed.”
The donations by local businesses and residents are currently being sorted for further transport following a successful push to give aid to those fleeing from or living under the conflict.

From the depot at Buttington, the donations will be transported to Howard Shipping, a freight forwarder in Wolverhampton.
Speed Welshpool will cover costs relating to customs clearance and the transportation of goods.
The company is planning to organise more trips as the conflict continues.
