TWO women suffered suspected serious injuries while a man and two children were also taken to hospital with minor injuries following a traffic accident between Llandrindod Wells and Newtown.
The two-vehicle collision happened on the A483 at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 16, and resulted in the major Powys road being closed for around 12 hours.
Dyfed Powys Police, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service all attended the crash, between Llanbister and Camnant, with police revealing that the road was back open shortly before 7am today.
“Dyfed Powys Police attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the A483, between Llanbister and Camnant, at approximately 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 16,” said the force in a statement.
“The fire and ambulance services also attended and the road was closed to allow for the incident to be dealt with safely. Two women were taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries. One man and two children were also taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.
“North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent were informed of the road closure and the vehicles were recovered at approximately 2.45am.”
