A TEENAGER from Llanidloes will represent Wales at the World Scouting Jamboree in South Korea.
Tirion Williams will next summer join more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world to promote peace and understanding
The 15-year-old had written to Llanidloes Rotary asking for support towards her £4,200 fundraising target.
"Tirion has developed a very impressive well structured fund raising plan and Llanidloes Rotary were delighted to present her with a donation to help and to also offer to support one of her activities by providing a prize," a Rotary spokesperson said. "Members were most interested in the information Tirion provided explaining the process she had to go through to be selected and also the fund raising activities already undertaken.
"They look forward to 2023 when she will give a talk to the club sharing her experiences of the trip and how she will use this amazing opportunity in her young life in her own future and the future of others she works with in guiding and beyond.
"Llanidloes Rotary Club are proud to be able to offer such deserving young people important funding to assist them in their endeavours and this is possible due to the fundraising community events Llanidloes Rotary Club organises itself and the support. the community gives by attending them."
