A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Powys man wanted in connection with two charges of conveying drugs into or out of prison.
Simon Drewry, from Llandrindod Wells, faces two counts of taking a prohibited article into or out of HMP Swansea on March 9. South Wales Police confirmed today that Drewry, 43, is wanted on warrant and failed to appear at Swansea Magistrates Court for a hearing on Wednesday, March 9.
On charge one, Drewry, of Temple Drive, Llandrindod, is said to have without authorisation brought, threw or otherwise conveyed a substance, namely cannabis, into or out of the prison, situated on Oystermouth Road, Swansea.
On charge two he is said to have brought, threw or otherwise conveyed a substance, namely Class C controlled drug buprenorphine – a strong painkiller – into the prison.
South Wales Police have issued a warrant for his arrest without bail.
