A POWYS teenager has been forced to pay more than £500 after he was caught driving while using his mobile phone.
Jack Probert, 18, was driving a Ford Fiesta in Hereford on July 9 last year when he was stopped by police. He was charged with both using his mobile while driving and speeding in a 30 mile per hour zone.
Probert, of Firbeck, Penybont, near Llandrindod Wells, was not at Hereford Justice Centre on Friday, March 4, to hear he must pay a total financial penalty of £574.
He was fined £220 for each offence and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £44 surcharge. He also had six points placed on his driving licence.
