A MASSIVE donation to support the people of Ukraine has been made by a Welshpool care home thanks to the efforts of a Polish-born member of staff.
The Rhallt Care Home delivered 23 boxes of donations of to the Welshpool donation centre at Masonic Hall as part of a local effort to help Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion.
With the UN estimating that Vladmir Putin’s invasion has already created 500,000 refugees, pleas are being made for any donations that can benefit those fleeing the conflict.
Melissa Davies, from The Rhallt, said “We are all aware of the current situation that Ukraine is facing and staff at The Rhallt wanted to help, none more than Polish born citizen Karolina.
“Karolina reached out to staff through team social media and arranged donations to be left at The Rhallt.”
The scheme was organised very quickly, with the donations being dropped off less than 48 hours after Karolina first contacted the staff.
Melissa added: “A huge congratulations to Kara, your team are all super proud of your achievements.”
