THE trial of a man accused of assault and causing actual bodily harm will now take place later this year.
Robert Martin Flanagan stands accused of the offence, which is alleged to have occurred in Manafon, near Welshpool, on May 8, 2019.
Flanagan, 54, pleaded not guilty when he originally appeared at Mold Crown Court last July. His four-day trial had been scheduled to start at the same venue next Monday, March 7, but concerns were raised at a pre-trial hearing today (March 1) over the mental health of the female complainant and her fitness to attend next week’s trial.
Judge Nicola Saffman vacated the trial and it has been relisted to start on Monday, August 1, at Mold.
Flanagan, of Redditch in Worcestershire, was granted unconditional bail, to attend court on August 1.
