CONNOR Bird came off the bench to inspire Llanidloes Town to a thrilling 6-3 win at Llanrhaeadr to book their place in the fifth round of the Central Wales Cup.

The villagers raced ahead at Tanllan with Matty Williams and Gwyn Davies netting before Andy Evans reduced the arrears before the break.

Luke Boundford levelled for the Daffodils on the hour but Williams restored Llanrhaeadr's lead with his second of the contest five minutes later.

Bird was introduced as a 75th minute substitute and levelled just two minutes later and completed his hat-trick within 10 minutes before the Daffodils were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of George Clarke.

However Llanidloes had the final say of the afternoon with Elliot Jones completing the scoring as the Daffodils kept alive their cup bid.

Meanwhile Ben Holt struck a hat-trick as Tywyn Bryncrug toasted a 5-2 win over Talgarth Town and a place in the semi-finals of the Emrys Morgan Cup.

Holt's treble gave the Cormorants the interval lead before Conor O'Shea reduced the arrears.

However Ben Williams and Mark Edmonson goals ensured Tywyn's triumph with James Smith netting a late consolation for the Royals.

A Matty Tong double inspired Hay St Marys to a surprise 3-0 win at home to Builth Wells with Jack Biggs completing the scoring for the Saints.

Brecon Corries made light work of Newcastle Emlyn with a 5-1 win at Rich Field.

Paul Keddle opened the scoring for the hosts only for Lucian Evans to level for Emlyn.

However the Corries rallied before the break with goals from James Jeffreys and Joel Evans before further strikes from Dale Evans and Glyn Hobbs settled the outcome.

Meanwhile Joey Price starred at the Bypass with all four goals as Radnor Valley brushed aside the challenge of Dyffryn Banw in a 4-0 victory.
