Ten areas of Powys have Covid case rates above 1,000, the latest Public Health Wales data shows.
MSOA (middle layer super output areas) data released by Public Health Wales has revealed that more than one per cent of the population has tested positive for Covid in the last week in ten areas across the county.
That includes Newtown North, which has the highest Covid case rate in Powys between December 21 and December 27.
During that time period, 111 people in the area tested positive for the virus, giving it a case rate of 1,789.7 cases per 100,000 people.
Newtown South had the second worst case rate, with 1,414.3 cases per 100,000 people after 71 new positive cases.

These are the Covid case rates, and number of new cases, in every part of Powys over the last seven days:
- Llanfyllin & Llanwyddyn: 84 new cases; a rate of 918.6 cases per 100,000 people
- Machynlleth & Banwy: 82 new cases; a rate of 1,382.9 cases per 100,000 people
- Llanfair Caereinion & Caersws: 79 new cases; a rate of 1,284.8 cases per 100,000 people
- Four Crosses & Guilsfield: 69 new cases; a rate of 1,122.9 cases per 100,000 people
- Welshpool: 43 new cases; a rate of 639.4 cases per 100,000 people
- Montgomery, Trewern & Berriew: 60 new cases; a rate of 1,100.5 cases per 100,000 people
- Abermule, Churchstoke & Kerry: 62 new cases; a rate of 1,100.5 cases per 100,000 people
- Newtown North: 111 new cases; a rate of 1,789.7 cases per 100,000 people
- Newtown South: 71 new cases; a rate of 1,414.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Llanidloes, Blaen Hafren & Llandinam: 67 new cases; a rate of 1,030.5 cases per 100,000 people
- Rhayader, Newbridge-on-Wye & Elan Valley: 57 new cases; a rate of 790.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Knighton & Presteigne: 75 new cases; a rate of 776.8 cases per 100,000 people
- Llandrindod Wells: 22 new cases; a rate of 392.2 cases per 100,000 people
- Builth Wells & Llanwrtyd Wells: 50 new cases; a rate of 747.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Hay-on-Wye & Talgarth: 53 new cases; a rate of 623.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Sennybridge & Talybont-on-Usk: 26 new cases; a rate of 431.0 cases per 100,000 people
- Brecon: 69 new cases; a rate of 821.4 cases per 100,000 people
- Crickhowell, Llangynidr & Llangorse: 83 new cases; a rate of 1,192.0 cases per 100,000 people
- Ystradgynlais & Tawe Uchaf: 80 new cases; a rate of 791.7 cases per 100,000 people
