JANUARY can often be a gloomy and miserable time, but some New Year cheer is on the way with news that is sure to make you flip out – The Beefy Boys are returning to Powys.
After the buzz and excitement brought on by Christmas, the New Year can often bring us back down to earth with a bump.
The festive lights are gone, replaced by the gloomy January nights and cold, wet and wintry weather. But, one energetic rural community in Powys is hoping to banish the blues early next year by bringing everyone’s favourite gourmet burger experience back to Mid Wales.
The Beefy Boys will be back in the village of Dolau again on Saturday, January 15, bringing their mobile catering experience back to the countryside masses, having initially brought their mind-blowing burgers to the village last April.
“We are excited to announce The Beefy Boys will be with us again on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 11am,” read a statement on the Dolau Community Hall Facebook page.
“What a great way to start the New Year.”

The Beefy Boys have been inundated with ravenous burger lovers – including thousands from Powys – since opening their first restaurant in Hereford in 2016.
The company was set up by four friends, amateur cooks who shared a passion for local produce and dirty American-style burgers and BBQ, in 2011. They first caused a taste sensation when entering the UK’s biggest BBQ competition, Grillstock, in Bristol, in 2014 – where they won the coveted title of ‘Best Burger’.
From there they moved on to the prestigious World Food Championships in Las Vegas a year later, where they competed against 50 of the best burger chefs in the world for the title of World’s Best Burger – and finished runners-up overall with their ‘Butty Bach Burger’.
The Beefy Boys used their winnings in Vegas to open a restaurant in Hereford, with a Shrewsbury venue also opening earlier this year.
