THOUSANDS of toys have been donated in a gift appeal organised by the Montgomery Family Crisis Centre.

The appeal is an annual scheme held by the charity, aiming to collect as many gifts as possible to donate to vulnerable families, with 2021’s haul being described as “absolutely humungous”.

In just over a month, from November 8 to December 10, thousands of toys were donated to the cause.

Montgomery Family Crisis Centre operates to offer support to men, women and children affected by or experiencing domestic abuse throughout North Powys. Their annual gift appeal was launched several years ago by Sarah Voice and her son Harry shortly after they moved to the area and has continued into 2021.

Sarah Voice said: ““Every year the public never cease to amaze me at pulling together to help support those in need. Harry and I are privileged at being able to support The Montgomery Family Crisis Centre who provide such an important service in our community.”

Jane Stephens, MFCC’s General Manager, said: “We are speechless and overwhelmed at how the community has come together to make sure vulnerable families in Montgomeryshire have a great Christmas.”

Fleur Frantz-Morgans, MFCC’s Community Liaison Officer, added: “We can’t thank Sarah and Harry Voice enough for all their hard work organising the Christmas Toy and Gift Appeal. We would also like to thank everywhere which acted as collection point and of course all the people who fundraised and donated, this truly has been community spirit at its best.”
