Parts of Powys have some of the highest Covid case rates in Wales.
MSOA (middle layer super output areas) data released by Public Health Wales has revealed that one area of the county has a Covid case rate among the top ten per cent in the country.
Between December 9 and December 15, Sennybridge and Talybont-on-Usk had one of the worst Covid case rates across Wales.
During that seven-day period, 52 new Covid cases were recorded in the area, giving it a case rate of 861.9 cases per 100,000 people, the worst rate in Powys.

- Llanfyllin & Llanwyddyn: 46 new cases; a rate of 503.1 cases per 100,000 people
- Machynlleth & Banwy: 16 new cases; a rate of 254.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Llanfair Caereinion & Caersws: 12 new cases; a rate of 195.2 cases per 100,000 people
- Four Crosses & Guilsfield: 15 new cases; a rate of 244.1 cases per 100,000 people
- Welshpool: 21 new cases; a rate of 312.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Montgomery, Trewern & Berriew: 16 new cases; a rate of 293.5 cases per 100,000 people
- Abermule, Churchstoke & Kerry: 32 new cases; a rate of 568 cases per 100,000 people
- Newtown North: 32 new cases; a rate of 516 cases per 100,000 people
- Newtown South: 26 new cases; a rate of 517.9 cases per 100,000 people
- Llanidloes, Blaen Hafren & Llandinam: 27 new cases; a rate of 415.3 cases per 100,000 people
- Rhayader, Newbridge-on-Wye & Elan Valley: 44 new cases; a rate of 610.1 cases per 100,000 people
- Knighton & Presteigne: 36 new cases; a rate of 372.9 cases per 100,000 people
- Llandrindod Wells: 43 new cases; a rate of 766.6 cases per 100,000 people
- Builth Wells & Llanwrtyd Wells: 21 new cases; a rate of 313.9 cases per 100,000 people
- Hay-on-Wye & Talgarth: 30 new cases; a rate of 352.8 cases per 100,000 people
- Sennybridge & Talybont-on-Usk: 52 new cases; a rate of 861.9 cases per 100,000 people
- Brecon: 72 new cases; a rate of 857.1 cases per 100,000 people
- Crickhowell, Llangynidr & Llangorse: 30 new cases; a rate of 430.8 cases per 100,000 people
- Ystradgynlais & Tawe Uchaf: 70 new cases; a rate of 692.7 cases per 100,000 people
