WELSHPOOL Livestock Market saw a huge turnout as a tractor run with a festive twist came to town this week.
On Sunday December 12 a fleet of illuminated farm vehicles took a tour of Welshpool and its surrounding villages to raise money in aid of the DPJ foundation.
The 30-mile round trip included Welshpool High Street, Guilsfield, Arddleen, Four Crosses, LLandrinio, Criggion, Trewern, and Buttington before returning to the Livestock Market.
Early indications show that the event raised more than £3000 for the DJP Foundation.

The DPJ Foundation is a Pembrokeshire based charity that offers support to agricultural and rural communities regarding mental health. Founded in 2016, their service focusses on support through specific local counselling and awareness through social media discussing mental health and training those in farming to be more aware of poor mental health and its impact on communities.
Event co-organiser, Jenny Clarke, said: “Thank you to each and everyone of you who helped support this event. A first for Welshpool but now it seems I have to start arranging one that’s bigger and better for next year.”
“Words cannot describe how overwhelmed I was at seeing the kids tractors and the adult ones all decorated, and just the sheer amount of people whom turned up.”

Plans are already underway to hold the event again in December 2022, given the run’s success in raising money and awareness for its cause.
