ONE quad bike rider abandoned his vehicle and fled police, while two other riders rode off and abandoned their friend in northern Powys over the weekend.
The incident occurred as police crews from Powys combined to tackle antisocial behaviour and illegal off-roading in the Dyfnant Forest area of the county on Sunday, December 5.
Dyfed Powys Police’s Rural Crime Team and neighbourhood policing teams were involved in the operation in the area, located near Lake Vyrnwy. The force said three riders were seen, with one male abandoning his quad bike and escaping, while two others with him left the area on their vehicles.
“The Rural Crime Team have been assisting our NPT colleagues this afternoon with calls of ASB & off-roading in the Dyfnant Forest,” said the team on their Twitter account.
“Upon seeing our vehicle the rider decamped and ran off into the forest leaving his quad with us, his two friends rode off and left him. #GoodFriends.”
