A BODY has been found in the search for a missing man with ties to the Powys area.
Police had issued an appeal earlier this week for help to find a missing 63-year-old man, named only as Phillip, originally from the Welshpool area. Phillip had gone missing from Borth, near Aberystwyth.
“Dyfed Powys Police can confirm that a body has been found in the search for Phillip, who was missing from the Borth area,” the force said in a statement.
“The body has not been formally identified as yet but next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
“We would like to thank the public for their support during the appeal. Enquiries remain ongoing at this time.”
Phillip, known locally as Wynne, was last seen at approximately 7.50pm on Tuesday, October 26.
He was seen driving away from Borth in an X reg red Ford Focus, at which time he was wearing jeans, a dark hoody and black boots, said police.
He was described as 5' 9" tall, of large build, a shaved head with a goatee beard, as well as tattoos on his arms, one of which is of dark roses with an animated style dragon.
Police also said he was originally from the Welshpool area and had been known to visit Snowdonia, Lake Vyrnwy and the Oswestry area.
