Police officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man who was found in Newtown town centre over the weekend.
A police cordon was put in place in Long Bridge Street on Saturday morning (October 23) after the man's body was found under the bridge.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Several vehicles from Dyfed-Powys Police and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service were seen parked at the Elephant and Castle Hotel in Long Bridge Street while they responded to the incident.
Both paths down to the river across the road from the hotel were cordoned off by police tape and a van from the police's Scientific Support Unit was at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the circumstances around the sudden death of a man who was found under the bridge on Long Bridge Street, Newtown just before 8am on Saturday October 23.
"His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”
