Tickets to watch hugely popular stand-up comedian Rhod Gilbert perform in Newtown have completely sold out.
The Hafren said that all the tickets for the 550 seater theatre had sold out within two hours of going on sale on Wednesday, October 6.
The multi-award-winning comic had taken a seven-year break from stand-up before going back on the road with his The Book of John tour.
The tour has been extended due to overwhelming demand, the organisers say, and the popular Carmarthen-born star of Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience has since played at more than 100 venues across the United Kingdom.
Rhod will be donating some of the proceeds from the tour to his chosen charities: The Stroke Association and Alzheimer’s Society.
A spokesperson for The Hafren said: "It was all sold out by around 12pm so two hours although vast majority had gone within first hour."
The theatre, which is regarded as mid Wales' best entertainment venue, said the past 18 months had been "a tough time" after being shut because of the coronavirus pandemic.
"It's always difficult to satisfy the demand as there's probably thousands of people wanting one of 550 seats but we limit it to four per person to try and make it as fair as possible and to ensure we don't get touts trying to grab them."
Tickets are still available to watch some of the UK's best comedians such as Sarah Millican, Jasper Carrot and Ed Byrne.
