A Llanidloes High School pupil has won a place in the semi-final of Miss Teen Great Britain 2022.
Scarlett Davies has beaten off competition from across England, Scotland and Wales to be named as one of the semi-finalists.
Organisers say the event is not a beauty pageant, and instead designed to empower teens.
The Newtown teenager said: "I feel very lucky and excited to have been shortlisted as a semi-finalist. It's a great achievement for a girl who lives in a small town."
Teenagers from across Great Britain will compete next year for the crown and a cash prize at a glittering grand final in Blackpool.
"Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true. I would be proud to represent my hometown and win the Miss Teen Great Britain Crown," Scarlett added.
A spokesperson for the competition said: “The weekend of Miss Teen Great Britain is set to be full of fun, with the finalists enjoying a Beauty Queen Challenge Day, a pyjama diva party and much more.
“This is going to be a fantastic day.”
