A MAJOR Powys road is back open hours after a large tree fell down and closed it in both directions.
The tree came down and blocked the A483 between Builth Wells and Howey at around 9am on Wednesday, September 1. The road was reopened at 12.38pm.
Traffic Wales said initially: “We are dealing with a large fallen down tree that has come across the carriageway on the A483 between Howey and Builth Wells, diversions set via A470.
“Road expected to be closed for a couple of hours, please plan ahead, updates to follow.”
In a later update, they added: “The tree has now been removed off the road and has been reopened in both directions.”
