DO YOU live in Powys or within the Brecon Beacons National Park and want to learn more about the wildlife around you – while also having the chance to win a £100 book voucher?
During August people who live here are being invited to enter the ‘Wildlife on my Doorstep’ competition run by the Biodiversity Information Service for Powys and the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Brecon Beacons Local Nature Partnership and Powys Nature Partnership. The competition encourages participants to learn more about the wildlife around them and identify and record what they see.
To enter the competition participants will need to submit a photo of their favourite local wildlife sighting or favourite place to watch wildlife and answer three simple questions. Entries will be accepted from individuals, community groups, schools, teams, clubs, or any other organisations.
Three winners will each receive a £100 Natural History Book Service (NHBS) voucher to purchase wildlife identification guides or equipment to help improve their wildlife identification skills further. The vouchers are funded by Local Nature Partnerships Cymru.
You might be new to wildlife recording or an experienced recorder, it doesn’t matter. To enter, visit the https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/wildlife-on-my-doorstep-competition-until-31st-august-tickets-164307089929 website and register before August 31.
A short application form will be sent to you (this may take a few days). Once you've answered the three questions and attached a photo of your favourite wildlife sighting or your favourite place to watch wildlife, send this to the email address on the application form.
