A RADNORSHIRE farm that sits on part of the Glyndwr Way walking trail will be opening its gardens this weekend for the National Garden Scheme.

Cefnsuran Farm near Llangunllo, Knighton (LD7 1SL), joins the established favourite Hill House Farm, Knighton (LD7 1NA), in opening for the NGS this weekend . Opening for the first time this year, the one-acre sheltered farmhouse garden at Cefnsuran is set in a hollow at 1,000 feet. Surrounded by fields, ponds and woodland this is a haven for wildlife and there's plenty of scope for walking with paths, farm trails and even including a part of the Glyndwr Way.

The garden at Hill House Farm, developed over 50 years, has mown paths taking you from herbaceous borders near the house to a half-acre oak pool 200 feet below.

Cefnsuran Farm is open on from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 14 and 15. Hill House Farm is open from 12pm-5pm on Sunday.

You can book in advance or just pay at the gate for both these gardens and children go free. Tickets, directions and more information about these and other Welsh gardens can be found on the website at ngs.org.uk.

The money raised will go to fund nursing and caring charities supported by the National Garden Scheme including Macmillan, Marie Curie, the Queen’s Nursing Institution and Hospice UK.
