FANCY getting your hands on a bargain property that used to belong to an iconic professional Mid Wales sports star?
This luxurious home boasts got four bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms, a modern, integrated kitchen with beautiful bifold windows and comes complete with spacious room to park three cars, as well as an outdoor grilling area and even outdoor office space – and it’s all yours for a bargain £300,000.
The only problem? It’s pink and…it’s a children’s playhouse.
Radnorshire rugby star Dan Lydiate sparked plenty of excitement on Thursday morning when he took to Twitter to announce that he and his family had decided to put their spacious home on the market. Rather than hand it off for property agents to handle, however, the Wales and Lions star took his followers on a tour of the home himself – but it quickly became apparent that the offer was too good to be true and the 64-times capped flanker was pulling our legs.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Dan was planning an escape to the country, as he makes no secret of being very attached to his Powys roots. But rather than putting the family home up for sale in Ammanford, where the 33-year-old Ospreys star lives, it appears the nevertheless stylish property belonged to his daughter Lucy.

“Hi guys, because the property market’s going so well in Wales at the minute, we’ve decided to sell our family home,” said Dan, who is from Abbeycwmhir, near Llandrindod Wells.
“So, if anyone wants it, message me and enquire, we’re looking for about £300,000.”
Selling a house is often stressful and on first glance, Dan appears fatigued, before turning the camera on the colourful plastic children’s toy house: “I’ll give you a quick tour,” he adds.
“It’s quite a spacious, four-bedder, it’s got two en-suites. All the mod cons, you know, doors, integrated kitchen, bifolds and that’s not all, that’s not all.
“We’ve got a car port by here. Plenty of space there for two or three cars, with an outdoor barbecue area and outdoor office space.
“Like I say it’s a big decision to put our house on the market but if anyone’s interested give me a shout.”
The hilarious post has received more than 1,000 likes so far, with one user, @joebloggss104, suggesting it was the perfect home for diminutive ex-Wales winger Shane Williams, who stands 5ft 7ins. “@dan_lydiate. Looks perfect for @ShaneWilliams11,” he said.
Ryan Williams added: “Throw the car in and you have a deal.”
Lydiate bounced back from a two-year international hiatus to make Wayne Pivac’s Six Nations squad earlier this year, but his return lasted just 13 minutes in the opener in Cardiff against Ireland before he was forced from the field with ligament damage, with a subsequent knee operation ruling him out of a tournament that Wales eventually went on to win, as well as ending any hopes he had of a British & Irish Lions recall this summer. Lydiate played a starring role on the Lions’ successful 2-1 win over Australia in 2013.
Having been blighted by injuries throughout his career, it was feared the fans favourite’s most recent knock would see him announce his retirement, but he assured his 141,000 followers that he plans to return to rugby.
