LLANDRINDOD Wells has a new mayor after Laurence Weerdmeester-Price was voted in last week. Councillor Weerdmeester-Price replaces Steve Deeks-D'Silva as mayor and also as chairman of the town council. The new vice chairman and deputy mayor is Wade Curzon.
In a statement on their Facebook page, they said: “The town council is pleased to announce that Councillor Laurence Weerdmeester-Price has been elected as chairman of the town council and mayor of Llandrindod Wells.
“The council is looking forward to continuing its teamwork throughout the forthcoming year.”
In one of his final pieces of business as mayor, Cllr Deeks-D'Silva presented a cheque for £2,000 to the Bracken Trust to support the construction of their new summer house on behalf of the town council and the residents of Llandrindod.
