THE owner of a Border Collie who went missing near a popular bike track in Machynlleth is staying positive and hopes people can help to find her four-legged friend.

Charlie, a 14-year-old Collie with one eye, has been missing since Friday, April 30 and was last seen near Dyfi Bike Park.

Owner Annie Craggs, who lives in Cemmaes, is asking people in the area to remain on the lookout for Charlie.

She said: “We’re not giving up on him, he may well turn up on our doorstep.

“He’ll be heading for cover now so people may see him in their outbuildings or other spots with shelter.

“We’re all staying completely positive.”

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Dogs have been helping with the search for Charlie, while David Stubbs from The British International Rescue and Search Dogs has also been part of the search.

Missing Dogs Team Wales has praised the support of the community as the search continues.

Annie is urging people living in the area to check areas around their properties, in case Charlie has taken shelter there.

She said: “The main thing now is that he’s not going to be wondering around in front of people, he may be in survival mode and hiding from people.

“He’s going to be desperately looking for food and he may be scared of people.

“We’d just say to people is the best thing they can do is look in any holes he may be able to hide in around their homes.”

A Facebook page has been set up to help with the search for Charlie. To find out more, visit Find Charlie on Facebook.
