FAST food fans in Powys can finally look forward to getting their favourite takeaways delivered later this year.
Munchala has announced Llandrindod Wells will be its pilot location for launching a takeaway delivery service next month and is currently working with local restaurants in the town to onboard their menus. They plan to go live at the end of March/beginning of April and, in further exciting news, say they are already planning to widen their scope, with aims to roll out to Builth Wells, Rhayader, Knighton, Newtown and Brecon during 2021.
It will be music to pizza, burger and Chinese or Indian takeaway-lovers' ears, with the rurality of Powys meaning residents must cast an envious eye to neighbours across the border in England or down south in big cities like Cardiff and Swansea where Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat are thriving and takeaway delivery is a normal part of life.
Munchala are inviting feedback from the local community on what restaurants they’d like to see being put on the list. So, who would you like to see added to the list in Llandrindod: Zeera, Golden Rice Bowl, Gino's Pizzeria, Quality Fish Bar, The Fish Bar, Grosvenor Chippy, Fabian's Kitchen, Drover's Thai Restaurant, the Hampton Chinese Buffet, Lip Lickin' Kebab House, The Llanerch Inn, Super Dinner Takeaway? “Takeaway delivery has finally come to Mid Wales,” Munchala said on their Facebook page.
“We are currently working with local restaurants to onboard their menus and plan to launch late March/early April for deliveries.
“Llandrindod Wells is going to be our pilot location, so we'd like to get your feedback on which restaurants you would like to see delivering your food.
“We will then be rolling out in Builth Wells, Rhayader, Knighton, Newtown and Brecon during 2021.
“Munchala are different from other food delivery companies as we offer ‘movie night hampers’ that can be delivered with your takeaway of choice to complete the movie night experience.
“Keep an eye out for our window stickers at your favourite takeaways. Ask your favourite takeaway when they will be offering delivery.”
