A village near Machynlleth was one of the wettest places in the UK this morning after more than three days worth of rain fell in seven hours.
Aberllefenni, in south Gwynedd, recorded 35.2mm between midnight and 7am on Tuesday (January 19) as mid Wales faced the first batch of turbulent weather.
People have been warned to brace themselves for a period of very unsettled weather this week, as Storm Christoph brings heavy rain and gales.
Natural Resources Wales has issued four flood alerts for the Dyfi, Vyrnwy, Wye and upper Severn areas in mid Wales, while the Environment Agency has warned of possible flooding at Llanymynech and Hay-on-Wye.
A Met Office yellow weather warning for rain is in force for Wales until Thursday afternoon.
