One of Welshpool’s oldest societies has stepped forward to help local Mental Health Charity, Mid and North Wales MIND.
Welchpool Lodge of Freemasons, who have met in the town since 1864 have presented a cheque for £2500.
A spokesperson said, “We are delighted to continue our ongoing support for local charities that benefit the residents of Welshpool.
“Charity and support for charities is very much at the heart of what we believe as an organisation.
“In the wake of the coronavirus crisis it seems abundantly clear that mental health issues have been greatly magnified by stress and isolation.
“Members were keen to local initiatives by opening up the charitable accounts set aside for times of crisis.”
