There were no massive queues at Welshpool's tip as it reopened for the first time today – which was probably just as well for the owner of this convertible.
Powys Council had stipulated that no commercial vehicles were allowed to come to the reopened recycling centre, but that wasn't a problem for the driver of one drop-top Audi who was keen to get rid of an old mattress.
One onlooker said: "He's waited two months to get rid of that mattress – he must been desperate.
"You could see the chap from Powys County Council was shocked to see him turn up.
"Overall it was pretty quiet compared to elsewhere in the country, although it was apparently quite busy this morning. So it was probably the perfect time to get rid of an unwanted mattress."
Tips in Newtown and Brecon reopened for essential use yesterday, and Welshpool and Llandrindod Wells followed this morning, as part of a slight easing of the lockdown in Wales.
However, the message remains that people should stay home and exercise in their local area.
