THE building of new homes in Churchstoke is progressing with all properties part of a promise to deliver 100 per cent affordable housing.

Montgomeryshire AM Russell George visited a new development hosted by NHBC, Pickstock Homes and Mid-Wales Housing Association.

It is situated near to Churchstoke Shopping Centre, in the Cross Likey area of the village.

Mr George wanted to see how the site in the village is delivering much needed, new affordable high-quality homes for the region.

His visit to the development in Churchstoke was led by Paul Edwards, NHBC’s regional director. The scheme which will deliver 100 per cent affordable housing, is being developed by Pickstock Homes, on behalf of Mid-Wales Housing Association.

The visit highlighted the different types of homes being built and the local amenities that will be available for the residents.

As the UK’s leading insurance and warranty provider of new homes, NHBC works closely with house builders to support the delivery of high-quality homes, and with Parliamentarians to develop and promote good housing policy.

Russell George AM said: “I was delighted meet with the teams at NHBC and Pickstock Homes to learn about the work they are doing to provide this 100 per cent affordable new housing scheme, which is great news for the local community.

“This development will be a fantastic addition to the area; it is imperative that people have access to high quality, affordable homes.”
