AFRAID of heights? Try filming a show 150 feet above ground, says Machynlleth presenter Aeron Pughe, fresh from shooting a new S4C game show set to air this month.
Y Siambr is set in a slate mine deep in a core of a mountain in North Wales and is the world’s first ever underground game show. Set in Zip World’s popular attraction in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Bounce Below, the gameshow is designed to push competitors to their limits.
Describing the show as a mix between Ninja Warrior and Crystal Maze, Aeron said he was pushed to his limits while filming the show.
“I’d rather be a live chicken than a dead hero – that’s usually my life motto,” said Aeron, “so when I first got a tour of the location, I was shaking with fear, but I couldn’t say anything as I had already agreed to present the show!
“I didn’t want anyone to think that I wasn’t up for it. So, I just went for it.”
Catch Y Siambr on Thursday nights at 8pm on S4C.
