These pictures of his National Savings Certificates books were sent in by Allan Higgs, from Montgomery and date back to March 1955.
He said he had found them at the bottom of a cupboard.
He wrote: "It was a way of parents saving for their children and to show us how to save, but it looks like I've never used mine and found that they are worthless now. I know that some used them to buy Christmas presents.
