Paul and his sister Ann were close friends of ours in Maesteg and attended Grammar School with my brother Barrie and myself. Always easy to talk to, always the gentleman. I rarely saw him after leaving school, but on the few occasions that I did he was always very welcoming. In spite of his very successful career, there was no 'side' to Paul. I am sure his family were all very proud of him.
