SAMBROOK Herbert Barry 'Barry' Passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on July 15th 2023, aged 78 years of Guilsfield. Beloved husband of Monica. Loving son of Catherine. Much loved father of Darren and Nicola. An adored grandfather to Kyle and Bob. Funeral service at Guilsfield Parish Church on Monday 7th August at 1pm, followed by a private family committal at Llandysilio Churchyard. Donations given in the happy memories of Barry will be gratefully received and divided between Cancer Research Fund, Guilsfield Short Mat Bowling Club, The Guilsfield Youth Liaison Team for the Youngsters of the Community and St. Tysilio Church, Llandysilio, Four Crosses. I was sorry to read of the passing of Barry. We were friends and next door neighbours as children in Arddleen. Barry lived at "The Limes" and I lived next door at "Rock Cottage" until he moved with his mum to Four Crosses in 1955. We were at school together in Welshpool for several years, until I moved with my parents to Oswestry. Barry made contact with me earlier this year over a film I had made about Arddleen Station and It was wonderful to hear that his mum, Cath, whom I remember very fondly from my childhood, is with us still.
