GLYNNE THOMAS JERMAN M.B.E. Glynne passed at home with his family on 1st April 2021 following many years of ill health supported by Llanidloes District Nurses and Abacare carers aged 79 years. Glynne was the eldest son of Richard and Edith Anne Jerman formerly of Hafodfeddgar, Old Hall, Llanidloes and the brother of Malcolm and Llinos. Beloved husband of the late Jean Jerman, dearly loved father of Daniel and Rebecca and brother in-law to Malcolm. Glynne worked for 36 years for the Forestry Commission and was a union steward for the Transport and General Workers Union. Glynne's greatest passion was always for farming Hafodfeddgar, which he took over in 1981 and was always supported by Llinos and Malcolm. Glynne was passionately dedicated to his faith and community. A dedicated member of Old Hall and China Street Chapel's where he was a Deacon of both. As a young man Glynne was a keen member of Llangurig Young Farmers Club. Glynne could often be found on many committees including Old Hall Community School, Powys Eisteddfod and The Royal Welsh Show dedicated to ensuring tradition and fairness was always present. One of Glynne's greatest passions was Llanguirg Show where he was secretary for over 22 years. During this time Glynne also ensured the financial stability of the show through putting up marquee's. In respect of Glynne's work for the Forestry Commission and community work he was nominated for an MBE which he was awarded in 1994. This award recognised his dedication to his job and his passion for community work. The funeral took place on the 14th April 2021 in the Welsh Presbyterian Chapel, China Street. The service was conducted by the Rev Iestyn ap Hywel and the eulogy was read by retired Rev Jenny Garrard. The bearers were Malcolm Lloyd, Jason Pryce, Alun Jones, Joe Phillips, Jed Phillips and Mike Cameron. The leaflets were kindly given out by Ray Pryce and Sian Jones. The family of the late Glynne Jerman would sincerely like to thank all family, friends and everyone for their kindness, support and sympathy shown to them over the years and in their bereavement, for attendance at the funeral and for the cards and donations received in Glynne's memory amounting to £1400. Donations were given to Llanidloes District Nurses, China Street Chapel and Diabetes UK Cymru. The family would like to particularly thank Llanidloes District Nursing Team and Abacare Carers for their care, compassion and kindness shown to Glynne and family over the years and for their dedication to his comfort to the end. A special thank you to Ian Hughes of M. Jones and Son Funeral Director for his attention to detail and professionalism with the funeral arrangements.
