THE first ever Central Wales Football Association (CWFA) women's seven-a-side festival will take place at Newtown's Latham Park on Sunday afternoon.

Starting at 12.30pm the festival forms part of efforts to revive the women’s game with ex-Newtown player Naomi Hardman organising the CWFA event.

Among the entries confirmed are Aberystywth Town, Caernarfon Town, Llanfair United, Welshpool Town, Llanidloes Town and Tregaron Turfs while TNS and Llandrindod Wells have both entered two sides each.

Hardman said: “It promises to be a great day and hopefully we can attract a few more entries before Sunday.”
