DYLAN McPhee’s career best double century inspired Builth Wells to a massive 206 run victory at Abergavenny in division one of the GB Liners Marches League.

The Bulls opener showed the home attack no mercy in a knock of 212 and joined by Aled Powell (65) in a 56 run fourth wicket stand before being stumped off Ben Bowker (3-68).

Nick Francis (4-61) accounted for middle order resistance as Builth closed on a commanding 342-9.

McPhee (2-28) unsettled the top order in reply while Rob Wall and (2-22) and captain Sam Williams (5-52) celebrated the wickets of Jow Bowker (31),  Francis (26) and Ryland Wallace (24).

Middle order resistance from Jon Parker ended when he was stumped by Richard Galton off Aled Powell (1-0) for 21 before Williams polished off the tail to complete Abergavenny’s fall for 136.

Presteigne endured a miserable day in division two, crashing to a 115 run defeat at home to Canon Frome.

Opener Sam Pratly (83) starred for the visitors but Presteigne’s bowling attack, led by Lee Traylor (2-31) restricted Canon Frome to 157.

However Presteigne suffered a total collapse in reply with Andy Lloyd (5-19) and Chris Boyson (4-20) completing the hosts skittling for 42 in the 23rd over with Andy Bray (8no) top scoring.

Builth Wells IIs were awarded the points after Garnons IIs conceded their scheduled third division clash.
