Henshalls League Four

GUILSFIELD and Llandrinio got their division four promotion bid back on track with a 37 run victory at Bridgnorth IIIs.

The Guils early wobble included the cheap dismissal of opener Gary Lewis, stumped for seven off Guy Black (1-39) and Pete Missen, caught by Richard Ealey off Dan Fox for four.

However surviving opener Sam Griffiths (66) took the fight to the home attack with the middle order of Sam Birch (17), Gary West (18), Dave Lewis (14), Gary Meredith (19) and Jordan Evans (15) in support to guide their side to 189-9 to defend.

Alex Thomas (3-49) was the pick of the Bridgnorth bowling with support from Dan Fox (2-32) and Ben Creswell (2-18).

Griffiths (2-19) celebrated two early wickets in reply, including opener Ealey (13) before David Harris (3-33) took charge with the wickets of Albert Roberts (15) and Ben Taylor (16).

Niall Adam (49no) dug in to offer middle order resistance as Birch (2-29) bowled Black (29) and Creswell (13) before Meredith (2-2-40) and West (1-29) completed Bridgnorth’s demise for 152.

Elsewhere Llanidloes fell to a seven wicket defeat at Wroxeter Grove IIIs.

Llanidloes struggled to 74 to defend before their hosts eased to victory in 20 overs, closing on 75-3.
