A DAY of shock results in the J T Hughes Montgomeryshire League opened up the title races in both Honda Division One and Mitsubishi Division Two.

Meanwhile Llangedwyn left a potentially damaging blow in Trewern’s Mitsubishi Division Two title bid win with a shock 3-0 win at Caradog Park.

Goals from James Evans, Rich Evans and Mike Broadbent earned the Foxes the points to leave the hosts stunned.

Newtown Wanderers also boosted their second division promotion bid with a 2-1 win over town rivals Maesyrhandir at Latham Park.

In a well contested derby the spoils were sealed for Wanderers thanks to a Dave Ash double with Maesyrhandir remaining in the contest through Bob Rogers' reply.

Elsewhere Tom Anderson and Josh Morgan doubles earned Welshpool Town Reserves a 5-3 win at home to Trefonen with Jake Evans completing the Lilywhites scoring while the border visitors reduced the arrears through Alistair Jones, Brandon Rogers and Steve Tomkins.
