COBRA overcame basement side Abergele to keep their survival bid alive in division one of the North Wales League.

Matthew Jones’ try, converted by Rhodri Jones, proved crucial for the Meifod side with Will Worthington adding a brace of penalties to for the cause.

Gele, all but doomed to the drop and a return to second tier rugby, replied with a penalty from Owain Davies but it was not enough to prevent COBRA celebrating their fourth win of the campaign and bring them level on points with Ruthin and boost their hopes of escaping the relegation trapdoor.
