A MACHYNLLETH resident has expressed an interest in using their land just outside of town to create a dog field.
Pippa Knight, who is based on an uphill farm five miles outside of Machynlleth, posted to the Facebook page Machynlleth Buy Sell Swap Free Wanted to gauge the local interest in having a local dog park.
She added that she was considering creating one at the farm, which she did not name.
She said: “It would be a one acre field would be fenced at six feet high, with the first three to four feet with a mesh so dogs couldn’t see through it.

“There would be a couple of big logs in it, we can drill holes in the logs for those who do scent work.
“There could be a big tractor tyre with sand in for those who like to dig.”
She also questioned whether they would be able to continue grazing the field with sheep for two days of the week, with no dogs allowed on the days in which the sheep would be grazing.
The post attracted plenty of feedback from local residents, who approved of the location but offered some concerns regarding the nearby sheep.
